At the end of February NCEC held its first Global Chemical Congress event. The Congress brought together speakers from around the world including Argentina, the United States and China. The 2 day event focused on providing practical advice and support around the core themes of regulations and emergency and crisis response. A number of leading global chemical manufacturers, distributors and hauliers attended the event in London.
This lively and interactive event saw attendees engage particularly around the response agenda, where the combination of workshops, guest speakers and exhibitors provided the opportunity to reflect on potential areas for improvement around planning, training and exercising in particular.
NCEC’s Practice Director, Jonathan Gibbard, commented “The Global Chemical Congress has been an excellent event. We’ve had great input and energy from speakers and attendees, with lots of companies providing very positive feedback and we’re already looking forward to building on their ideas for improving the event in future years”.
Development of the event includes adding more workshops, to enable attendees to choose a number of options from 2 parallel streams, and ensuring the speakers, presentations and workshops represent an even wider global community and continue to be practical in nature.
