Hazmat Event 2011 underway

After a very enjoyable drinks reception yesterday evening, the main programme of events gets underway today. This morning's Practical Response session is provided by speakers from three Fire and Rescue Services - Bob Hark (Dorset), Rob Mitchell (West Midlands) and Dave Warren (Cambridgeshire). After lunch there are presentations from Tim Donavan of The Meteorological Office and Stephen Day of ChlorAid, followed by Waldemar Bujalski (University of Birmingham) talking about hydrogen fuel cell technology. Final speaker of the day is Philip Rodger from Bureau Veritas. The conference dinner will take place this evening, after what is sure to be a full day of presentations, discussions and networking.
