The COSHH Regulations place responsibility on employers and employees to control the use of substances hazardous to health, and therefore prevent or reduce the risks of exposure.
For all processes which involve a risk of exposure to a substance hazardous to health, a COSHH assessment is required. The assessment is a procedure that considers the substances used in the workplace, how people may be exposed to them and what measures are required to prevent that exposure.
Aims of the course:
The course takes you through the process of how to complete a COSHH assessment.
The course is designed to be delivered in your place of work, enabling delegates to be given guidance on making assessments for themselves in their own working environment.

What makes this course different is that it does not just focus on the detail of the regulatory requirements. Once delegates understand the substances they are handling, the risks involved and the assessment process, we ask you to take the opportunity for a workplace practical.
Delegates take the course tutor into their working environment so that, with guidance, they can try making assessments for themselves.
