My software has stopped working - it says 'time-limit expired'
This means the 14 day trial or your subscription period has expired. You will need to contact NCEC to register the software.

To register the software you need to purchase a subscription for Pocket Chemdata®. Once you have a subscription NCEC will provide an activation code that will enable you to use Pocket Chemdata®.

What if something goes wrong when I install the software?

I want to reinstall the software but cannot find the CD. What should I do?
Pocket Chemdata® no longer comes on a CD but is downloaded from NCEC's customer portal. You can download the software as many times as you need.
The Pocket PC says there is not enough memory to load Pocket Chemdata®. What should I do?
Pocket Chemdata® needs about 40MB of memory on a flash memory card or in built-in memory on your device. If you have run out of memory it may be because you have installed Pocket Chemdata® in the wrong memory location, or because you have run out of memory.
Can I load the software onto more than one Pocket PC?
You can only load Pocket Chemdata® onto other Pocket PCs for the 14 day trial period. After that you will need to purchase a subscription for the number of devices you want to run Pocket Chemdata® on. Once you have a subscription you need to register Pocket Chemdata® to carry on using it.
Is the information provided by Pocket Chemdata® up to date?
Chemdata® and Pocket Chemdata® are updated every six months. Each update will include new and updated information for the Chemdata® documents including changes led by legislation, such as new UN numbers.
How will I upgrade the software if ADR changes?
Chemdata® is updated every six months and any changes in legislation, such as new or updated UN numbers or EACs will be included in the next update.
Can I get this product to work in other languages?
At the moment Pocket Chemdata® is only available in English. Contact NCEC to discuss your requirements for other languages.
What happens to the software if the battery runs out?
Depending on the type of Pocket PC you have you should not have a problem. Most Pocket PC's have an internal back-up battery to save information; however if you have lost the installed software Pocket Chemdata® can easily be re-installed. The activation key supplied by NCEC should still be valid. If you have any problems please contact NCEC.
I've installed Pocket Chemdata® on my Pocket PC but get an error message MFF-09 'Can't open Chemdata.sdf'
This error message is usually caused because Pocket Chemdata® has been installed into the Pocket PCs internal memory and has not left enough memory for the program to run. We would advise that you un-install Pocket Chemdata® and re-install it, selecting a memory card as the location to install. If this still fails to resolve the problem please contact the NCEC IT Helpdesk.
