New REACH Regulations impact outside Europe

In Europe, the new Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 came into effect on 1 June 2007.

REACH requires the Registration of any substances that you import into Europe ≥1 tonne per year.  Pre-registration to take advantage of transitional phase-in arrangements should have taken place before 30 November 2008.  Late pre-registration will be possible in some cases. What is an Only Representative (OR)?

An Only Representative (OR) must be based within Europe and is responsible for fulfilling the obligations outlined in REACH (full explanation)

Answer:
It is possible to use your own European office to carry out registration but you may not have the specific knowledge, resources or time to help you comply.
