NCEC's Hazmat Academy team has provided hazardous materials (hazmat) training for Adler and Allan's employees. The training was equal to that given to the emergency responders from the fire and rescue service.
A number of employees from the environment consultancy took part in the hazardous materials first responder and hazardous materials tactical advisor training with some going on to complete an incident site controller course.
Henrik Pedersen, Group Managing Director, Adler and Allan, said: "This investment ensures our responders will be best placed in the industry to provide a confident, competent and professional response to hazardous materials incidents."
The aim of the Hazmat Academy is to enable anyone who may have to respond to an incident involving hazardous materials to do so safely and effectively. That aim was realised and the training put into use when Adler and Allan led the environmental response at a site in Llangennech, Wales where a 25-wagon freight train derailed and caught fire releasing 330,000 litres of diesel into the surrounding area.
