New Zealand update on supply regulation

New Zealand update on supply regulation
24 October 2017

From the 1st December 2017 changes to the way hazardous substances are managed in New Zealand will come into effect.  Under the Hazardous Substances (Health and Safety Reform Revocations) Regulations 2017, most hazardous substance rules set under Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act, will also be set out in EPA Notices.  Further changes include EPA role in no longer setting the rules to protect people from workplace activities involving hazardous substances.

These will be set under the new Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations, implemented by WorkSafe NZ.  This new regulation will be most relevant to people who import, manufacture or sell hazardous substances or use pesticides.

Underpinned by over 40 years' experience, NCEC has a comprehensive understanding of all legislation relating to the manufacture, distribution, use, treatment and disposal of chemicals. As such, it is ideally placed to guide its clients through the complicated processes of maintaining regulatory compliance.
