UK and EU REACH

REACH

Over the last four decades, NCEC has developed an in-depth knowledge of the global chemical marketplace and its critical interactions with stakeholders – from regulator to supply chain. This means we are ideally placed to support you with your REACH obligations. Our dedicated team of REACH consultants can help you to understand what your requirements are and assist you with your registrations, including acting on your behalf as a REACH Only Representative (OR) if required, in order for you to achieve compliance. We are also able to assist you with your continuing obligations post registration, such as support with ongoing dossier improvement and evaluation decisions, and preparing applications for Authorisation.

REACH services

NCEC is a REACH Ready approved supplier, meaning we are certified to provide technical guidance on all aspects of compliance with REACH legislation.

Whatever your size or sector, we can provide you with tailored REACH registration support to meet your requirements and budget - everything from dossier creation and submissions right through to complete registration; including Only Representative and Third Party Representative services. Our experts also have a wealth of experience in the post-registration stages of REACH and can support you to manage these ongoing commitments to ensure that you remain in compliance with minimal disruption to your business. Our services are key to helping you register your organisation’s substances and meet the requirements of the REACH regulations within the European Union (EU).

  • Only Representative support for non-EU companies: We work closely with the European chemicals industry and have a full understanding of chemical manufacture and distribution. This expert knowledge means that we can take on your obligations as an importer acting as your 'only representative' for non-EU companies enabling you to trade freely within the European market; reducing both the time and cost of the process whilst supporting compliance. We have offices both within and outside the EU, meaning we are able to cater to the needs of both domestic and international clients wishing to trade within the European market and our ability to provide this service will not be affected by Brexit.
  • REACH Evaluation: Although substances may have been registered under REACH, this is only the start of the journey. ECHA has committed to compliance checks of at least 5% of submitted dossiers, and will issue decision letters if it finds there are shortcomings. Individual substances may also be selected for evaluation as part of the Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP). Both of these processes could result in added costs for registrants and ultimately have further implications such as substances being identified as substances of very high concern (SVHCs). It is important therefore to keep registration dossiers up to date and to make use of the right expertise at the right time to minimise the costs and potential disruption of REACH evaluation. Our experts are on hand to provide regulatory and scientific advice, and can put together bespoke solutions to suit your specific needs.
  • Authorisation and Restriction: Following Evaluation under REACH, regulatory authorities may propose a Restriction on specific uses of a substance, or identification of the substance as a SVHC, with a view to phasing it out of the EU market. This can pose serious business implications for companies, and our experts can support you to engage at the various stages of the regulatory process to ensure the best possible outcomes. If your substance has been added to the Authorisation List (Annex XIV) our experts can support you to prepare an application for authorisation to allow you to continue to use the substances beyond the sunset date.
  • Bespoke Advice and Guidance for those who just need a helping hand: Our team are also pleased to help those who may just want technical support and a second opinion. Chemical Compliance Managers often have niche skills within their organisation. Our experts are here to offer technical advice, support and review of your approach, providing piece of mind to both managers and directors that regulatory compliance is being achieved.
